The Cinematheque Francaise is completely devoted to the art of making movies. Located in the heart of the Bercy park, it was officially open in the presence of Martin Scorsese in 2005.
Its role is to archive and restore movies that belong in its collection, and to schedule screenings of great movie classics. The largest room harbors a screen that’s 42 feet wide and 412 seats arranged in a semi circle.
Among the usual exhibitions of the Cinémathèque are:
- Permanent history of cinema
- Watching and re watching movies of today
- Avant-garde cinema
